I left for Europe In 1999, motivated to investigate all things food and
decoration.
This was the beginning of what became a 6 year working chapter,
vastly broadening my culinary, creative and managerial skills. I
worked extensively in the South of France, Southern & Central
Spain, the Swiss Alps and on a private island in the Caribbean.
I commenced as chef on a luxury motor yacht sailing along the French
Riviera between Monaco and St. Tropez, and the Spanish Balearic Islands,
particularly Ibiza.
My later role as catering and house manager took me to Madrid, Sotogrande,
Gstaad and Mustique. I traveled between each property as required
throughout the year to ensure the smooth running of operations - from
staff hire and training, to the creation of high profile parties
and everything in between.
Unfamiliar language and culture provided me with additional challenges
in my role. I enjoyed the opportunity to grow in unexpected ways.
I developed language skills and an acute awareness and respect for
the cultural variances of those around me.
